WE FINISHED 4TH AT THE WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP BAR B QUE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS!

Wow, what a week.

From a field of 252 of the best BBQ cook teams in the world, we placed 4th – beating every Invitational winner along the way. Not bad for a British group of barbecue restaurants, eh!

Probably the most satisfying part of it all is that we kept it true to what we do at home. All our recipes, techniques, rubs and sauces were the exact ones that we use in our restaurants – no injections, no changes, just true barbecue as you know it!

Massive props go out to Rimvydas (Headingley Pitmaster), Anthony (Manchester Deputy Manager) and Jess (Leeds Assistant Manager) who were instrumental to such a great placing. We couldn’t have done it without you!

The overall score is calculated as a combination of your scores in each individual category. Here are our scores:

Ribs – 18th/252
Chicken – 21st/252
Brisket – 24th/252
Dutch Oven – 32nd/157

OVERALL PLACING: 4th

Agonisingly, we were just a point away from finishing 3rd and picking up a trophy, and less than 3 points from being Grand Champions.

But we definitely can’t dwell too much on that, what an amazing result and experience.
