Kentucky corpse reviver

Kentucky corpse reviver

Harry Craddock originally created the Corpse Reviver in 1930 and it features in his legendary Savoy Cocktail Handbook. The drink is usually based on cognac and gin, but at Red’s we use Wild Turkey to give this classic English ‘hair of the dog’ a southern drawl. Cocchi Bianco is a lightly fortified white wine infused with herbs and citrus.

  • 25ml Wild Turkey 81 bourbon
  • 25ml Cointreau
  • 25ml Cocchi Bianco
  • 25ml fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Pared orange peel, to garnish

1. Add all the wet ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.

2. Seal and shake for about 15 seconds until well chilled, then strain into a martini glass. Finish off with a thin twist of orange peel and then kick back, pondering last night’s mayhem.
