About the pilgrimage

Each year we jump in a RV and take a road trip Pilgrimage across the southern states of America. We explore and discover. Meet and learn from the world’s best. Eat ‘cue five times a day, and return to the UK with bellies full and a stack-load of new ideas and dishes.

This is what makes Red’s authentic. This is what makes Red’s True Barbecue.

We throw open the trip to the faithful and bring you it live, with a host of blogs, photos and videos so you can see first hand what the melting pot of the BBQ belt is all about.

Believers, welcome to the Red’s Pilgrimage…

Red's 2015 Pilgrimage

From NYC to Beaumont Texas

New York, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas

Last year’s trip saw the team bring back the RedsSleepyJames, the NSFW Express lunch and the skills to smoke and serve the heaven-sent USDA Black Angus brisket. No pressure then. Travelling from the backstreets of Brooklyn to the home of Burnt Ends, Kansas City, and on to Texas, follow this year’s Pilgrimage as the 10-strong team set out to bring you back the very best in low and slow pleasure on a plate. And don’t forget to sign up to secure your ticket for the month of Pilgrimage specials in April.

Red's 2014 Pilgrimage

From the home of Mutton to the home of Beef

Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas

This year’s antics took us across five states and 1,500 miles in a quest to uncover the fuss about Mutton in Kentucky, rock out to country music in Nashville, catch up with our BBQ Mum, Melissa Cookston from the Memphis Barbecue Company, meet the now infamous ‘Sleepy James’, and taste some of the greatest Black Angus brisket God put on this planet, in Texas.
